The Spring of 2007 brought an exciting new prospect for Neil Beaty — a talented photographer of nature, and his partner, Lora Ruffner — an experienced writer and designer. Together, they began to map out how they would take a reader on a journey unlike most of the "travel books" and tourist guides currently on the shelves. They wanted to offer a true flavor of what the Blue Ridge Mountains offer.

From the first explosion of colorful wildflowers in the spring to the refreshing coolness of summer to the fall extravaganza in red and gold to the stark beauty of snow-covered peaks in winter, each season provides one with a very different Blue Ridge experience.
